Dr. Christine Baker (she/her/hers) is a coastal engineer that is fascinated by breaking waves and highly dynamic landscapes. Christine earned a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University, and a masters and doctorate degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Washington. Christine enjoys running and skiing in the mountains, gardening, and just about any activity that is a reason to spend more time outside.​​

Yoshihiro Garcia Yagi (he/him) is a first year PhD student with the Baker Coastal Lab. Yoshi earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Washington, Tacoma. Yoshi is excited to learn more about sediment transport and wave dynamics as he hopes to address coastal erosion issues on his home island of Saipan. He loves the ocean and is passionate about contributing back to the environment. His hobbies include SCUBA diving, kayaking, and relaxing at the beach with his family.
